Innosea, a leading engineering, advisory, and R&D specialist in marine renewable energy, has joined the 2C NOW research and development (R&D) project. The project, led by France Energies Marines, focuses on assessing climate change's impact on wind resources and metocean design conditions essential for the offshore wind sector.

2C NOW, a public-private partnership comprising key offshore renewables industry stakeholders, aims to study climate change's effects on offshore wind resources using innovative regional climate models. The project evaluates these models' performance and investigates how climate change may influence extreme wind, wave, and water level events crucial for designing various offshore wind assets like subsea cables and offshore substations.

Bruno Borgarino, Head of Climate Change Adaptation Studies at Innosea, stated, "To ensure the resilience of our offshore wind industry, understanding climate change's effects and adapting designs to mitigate risks are paramount. Our commitment to contributing significantly to the energy transition aligns perfectly with this project."

The 18-month-long project involves collaboration among several key partners, and its outcomes will be shared widely within the industry through a dedicated online platform.
