COP28 concludes with historic agreement

The COP28 climate summit in Dubai has concluded with a historic agreement that marks a significant step towards addressing climate change.

The deal, reached after days of negotiations, calls on all nations to transition away from fossil fuels, a move aimed at limiting temperature rises to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. While the agreement has been praised as a positive development, some stakeholders, including island nations and environmental groups, have expressed concerns that it does not go far enough to ensure a fair and rapid transition away from fossil fuels.
